Hypnotherapy

What is Hypnotherapy

icebergHypnotherapy is a safe, powerful tool used to help clients achieve their goals and bring about rapid change.

Hypnosis is NOT sleep, or a state of unconsciousness or being controlled by someone else.  Hypnosis is a natural state of mind that everyone has goes in and out of every day.
In reality, hypnotherapy is simply psychotherapy or counselling applied in and around the medium of hypnosis. Hypnosis is utilised to make changes at a subconscious level, dealing directly with the subconscious mind.

The conscious mind is in use during most of our activities, when we are concentrating on  tasks, actively thinking or learning a new skill.  The subconscious mind is where these skills and programmes are then stored.
However the subconscious mind contains our habits, experiences, our programming and fundamental beliefs and these programmes, habits and beliefs shape our thoughts and behaviours.  Ultimately, they shape what we do.

Problems such as panic attacks, phobias and addictions and past traumas are maintained in part by the unconscious mind. In this situation, we need to teach the unconscious mind other ways of responding and the need to address the issues which are holding us back.

Regression Therapy

images (7)Hypnosis is an excellent tool to help a client remember long-forgotten incidents. There is nothing mysterious about it. It is just a state of focused concentration. Under the instruction of a skilled hypnotherapist, the client’s body relaxes, causing the memory to sharpen.

So Regression therapy is the mental act of going back to an earlier time, in order to retrieve memories that may still be negatively influencing a person’s present life and that are probably the source of their anxieties and symptoms.
So this is not only helpful in reducing anxiety, eliminating phobias, changing bad habits, and aiding in the recall of repressed material, there are also many successful cases in images (3)regressing clients back to their early childhoods, even to when they were two or three years old, thus eliciting the memories of long-forgotten traumas that were disrupting their lives.

How Hypnotherapy Helps

images (6)When we have a problem we become stressed, anxious and worried. Sometimes it is the belief in a problem and thinking constantly about it that can perpetuate it. This can make the problem grow and we then feel we can’t change and will never be able to resolve it.

In hypnotic state, our mind has unlimited potential and resources to see, to hear, to experience.
Dring Hypnotherapy, clients are in a relaxed state and fully aware of everything around them at all times, and cannot be made to do anything against their will.
Clients are actually in a state of focused concentration and heightened suggestibility with increased awareness.

Positive suggestions during hypnosis can make us feel more positive; the belief in ourselves can change our feelings about the problem and our self-esteem and being able to separate the past from the present is valuable.  It may enable you to maintain your power and progress in the now.
